Keeping up with this blog has proven to be more of a chore than I thought it would, but it's better late than never.
I am now teaching 6 classes a day a Milford an am loving it. The students for the most part are wonderful and I am becoming good friends with my Spanish Co-op. My 7th and 8th graders are now journaling once a week and they really seem to enjoy it. There are of course a handful that complain, but the journals that I have been reading are well written, funny, and heartfelt. I am also learning a lot about my students through their journal entries.
I have to admit that I am still having a hard time warming up to my 10th grade Spanish class. My Co-op is wonderful and I enjoy chatting and sharing ideas with her, but I still feel like there is a road block between the students and myself. This just lets me know even more that my passion for teaching lies in the middle grades.
Wednesday evening I had a brief interview with a principal from one of the Lutheran grade schools in Hawaii. It went really well! I am still unsure if I would be willing to teach in Hawaii for 3-5 years, but I am open to considering the opportunity. I don't want to rule anything out yet. I know that God has some great things in store for me!
Next Tuesday at 8:00 p.m. I have a phone interview with a school in the St. Louis area. I am a little nervous and could definitely use your prayers. I'm sure that the interview will go well and that I will learn a lot about the ministry opportunity available at his school.
