I only had four days of teaching this week which turned out to just be three days since I left early on Monday with the stomach flu. :(
Tuesday thru Thursday were good days for the most part. My 7th and 8th graders are continuing to work on their Book Club project and seem to really enjoy it. My 10th grade Spanish class is still challenging me. There are a couple of students in my class that just don't want to do the work and if they are off task then the rest of the class seems to be off task too. I haven't been able to reach them yet and my Cooperating Teacher has told me she has had problems this whole year with the same students. I'm going to try a couple of different things this next week and see if anything works.
This next week is a four day week for Milford. Monday through Thursday I will be at school, and then on Friday I am going into Lincoln, NE to observe a Spanish teacher that uses the TPRS method in her classroom. This method is one that I have never heard of before, but the teacher says she has seen great results with it and her student really enjoy it.
I've set up my first interview for Tuesday the 24th with a school in St. Charles, MO. This interview is for a 5th grade teaching position. I'm a little nervous, but Concordia has prepared me well, so I should be okay.
Please keep me in your prayers as I prepare and go through this interview and the rest of the call process. My prayers are with you all as well!
