During my last week in Honduras, the school trip was to the bird park just outside of town. The park was run by a man from Texas and it was all really well kept up and put together. The birds we saw there were amazing and beautiful. We saw Macaws, Toucans, and many other parrots that I don't remember the names of. My favorite had to be the Macaws. They were so beautiful and were just amazing to see. The best part about our visit to the bird park was the interactive area. The majority of the birds in the park were in aviaries, but there was one open area where there were several birds just flying around. We were able to hold some of the birds, and while I was really freaked out that one of the birds was going to gouge my eye out, I held them and it was a pretty cool experience. There was this one blue Macaw that all of the students from the school including myself held, and he decided it would be cool if he made a couple of holes in our shirts. As he was sitting on our shoulder he was slowly lean over and poke his razor sharp beak in our shirt making a good sized hole. He wasn't dangerous by any means, just a little spunky. The whole time we were at the bird park I was thinking of my friend Carson who is terrified of birds and as the blue Macaw "decorated" my shirt, I almost popped it in the head just for him.
